Wolfgang Fiel was born 1973 in Alberschwende, Austria. After having studied Architecture in Vienna and London, he obtained his PhD at the Planetary Collegium in Plymouth University, UK. He is a co-founder and long-term collaborator of the Vienna-based artist collective tat ort, and currently teaches at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and the University of Art and Design in Linz, Austria. He is the editor and author of a number of books, including Consequence Book Series on Fresh Architecture (2005–2006, co-edited with Patrick Ehrhardt); New Realities: Being Syncretic (2009, co-edited with Roy Ascott and Gerald Bast); and Eckhard Schulze-Fielitz: Metalanguage of Space (2010). His most recent publication is Getting Things Done: Evolution of the Built Environment in Vorarlberg (2014).
