Univ.-Prof. Dr. Heinz Gärtner, Jahrgang 1951, studierte ab 1971 Publiztik und Kommunikationstheorie an der Universität Salzburg. Es folgten die Promotion mit Auszeichnung 1977 sowie die Habilitation zum Universitätsdozenten 1990. Die Universität Insbruck verlieh ihm 2001 den Titel eines Universitätsprofessors. Darüber hinaus ist Heinz Gärtner seit 2013 Direktor des Österreichischen Instituts für Internationale Politik und Herausgeber der Buchreihe: “Internationale Sicherheit”.
