Flow and Transport in Porous Media and Fractured Rock 
From Classical Methods to Modern Approaches

Unter theoretischen und experimentellen Gesichtspunkten werden Fluß, hydrodynamische Dispersion, Mischphasenverdrängung in porösen Medien und ‘Fractured Rock’ behandelt. Dabei werden zwei verschiedene Wege der Modellbildung vorgestellt. Der erste Weg basiert auf klassischen Fluß- und Transportgleichungen, ‘Kontinuumsmodelle’ genannt. Der zweite Weg basiert auf modernen Methoden aus der statistischen Physik ungeordneter Materie, d.h. auf ‘diskreten Modellen’, welche in den letzten fünfzehn Jahren immer populärer wurden. Dies, die Berücksichtigung aller wichtigen Aspekte poröser Medien und die Behandlung von ‘Fractured Rock’ in einem machen das Buch konkurrenzlos. In Teilen ist es bereits für Studenten höherer Semester geeignet. Ideal ist es für Doktoranden, außerdem für Chemie-, Petrochemie-, Bau- und Umweltingenieure, für Geologen, Physiker und alle Wissenschaftler, die sich mit porösen Medien beschäftigen.

关于作者

Muhammad Sahimi is Professor of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science and the NIOC Chair in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Southern California, where he was the chairman of his Department from 1999-2005. He has also been a visiting professor in Australia and Europe, and a consultant to many major industrial corporations. For the past 30 years Professor Sahimi has been active in research on all aspects of characterization and modeling of a wide variety of porous media. He has received awards from the American Physical Society, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, and Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
