This book contains two novels of Mr. Zhang Henshui, namely, A New Legend of Killing Ghosts and An Exotic Land. A New Legend of Killing Ghosts describes Sun Wukong”s revolution and the realization of the Republic of heaven. Despite the change of dynasties, Zhong Kui still does the duty of exorcising ghosts. Because the plaque in front of his temple was replaced, Zhong Kui and his subordinates began to investigate the lower boundary, so they launched a different kind of exorcism. Opium ghost, metaphysical ghost, hollow ghost, heartless ghost, faceless ghost and so on. All appeared, showing their true colors and magical powers. However, Zhong Kui had a long way to go to expel ghosts. An Exotic Land narrates the story of Song Yangquan, a local rich man who wanted to be an official, but didn”t know that there was another world in officialdom and was cheated twice. Song Yangquan, the local rich man, went to the city to seek officials. Through the introduction of the provincial brothers, he met the fake director Zhao, section chief Hao, director Zhang, and so on. They were deeply intoxicated in the social officialdom and gentle village arranged by these people. But it was all a hoax.
