Jesus said, And this is life eternal, that they should know thee the only true God, and him whom thou didst send, even Jesus Christ (John 17:3). But the question is, how is it possible to know God? How can we know someone who is infinite and eternal when we cannot see him, feel him, hear him, or sense his presence? We see clearly from the creation that there is a God, or else this world could not exist (Romans 1:20). We know from the Bible that God is a loving Father who is the Creator of all things.

But there is a way we can know God more intimately and more perfectly. We can know God by knowing his Son, the very one whom God sent to us as the Savior and redeemer of this lost worldhis name is Jesus, and he is the Almighty Jehovah God himself. We can know Jesus intimately as our best friend (John 15:15), and our brother (Hebrews 2:1114), and our Father (Isaiah 9:67; John 10:30, 14:611), because even though he is God, he became one of us exactly, a man, just like all other men (Hebrews 2:1418). He lived in this present world exactly as we live in it. So whatever we learn by studying Jesus, his teachings, and his life, we are learning about our loving Father, our God, and our Creator.

About the Author of this Book
I have written and published one other book, WHY ME, LORD? A Spiritual View of a Carnal War. It is a book on John’s Revelation. It views the Revelation letter as describing a war between God and Satan that was fought in heaven. That war was caused by Jesus establishing his church throughout the Roman world. God wanted his church to be established world-wide, and Satan did all he could to kill Christians and stop the church. What John saw were the spiritual forces that empowered the Roman Empire in its fight against the church, and he saw the spiritual forces of God that protected the church. However, that war was in fact a carnal war between Rome and the church. Rome was the weapon Satan used to try to destroy God’s church. Gibbon’s history of Rome, which is full of first century church history, was used to describe that carnal war. I wrote that book because the Revelation letter fascinated me, and I wanted to know as much about it as I could learn. It took five years to write this book. Gibbon’s history contains six volumes and some 4, 000 pages of church and Roman history. What follows is the reason I wrote that book, and this book about Jesus.
Judy and I married when I was 20 and she was 17. At that time military service was required, and so after we were married I went into the Air Force. I served on Okinawa, and in Japan and China. Four years later when I was released from the military I attended the University of Colorado as a math major. Math will help a person think straight in anything he does. I got a job in electronics with a company that made components for guidance and control systems such as the LEM and the APOLLO. I did not take me long to work my way up to become the chief inspector for quality assurance. That job required me to write the electrical test procedures for testing our units, and to supervise the testing of them accordingly. If there was a problem with a unit my job was to find it and fix it, and to try to take measures to prevent it from happening again. If we sent a unit out into the field that did not function properly the company sent me out to find out why. It was a very high stress job, and so after several years of that kind of work I decided to attend a Bible school and become a minister for the Church of Christ. Judy and I wanted fewer problems and less stress.
Upon graduation from SIBI in Lubbock, Texas, Judy and I moved to Poncha Springs, Colorado. I am from Colorado, and I love Colorado, and I am one of them that you can’t take the mountain out of the boy. We moved there to help start a church in the small mountain town of Poncha Springs, where there was no church. We spent twenty-four years there. I had time to study the Bible many hours every day. I also read a lot of books about the Bible and many other topics, and that is why I decided to write one. This is my second book, and it is a view of the fullness of God as seen in Jesus (Colossians 2:9).
After the 24 years of preaching in Poncha Springs, and the church was firmly established, Judy and I moved to Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico. In Mazatlán we started working with a little Mexican church, the Iglesia de Cristo, or the Church of Christ. Now the church we helped start in Poncha Springs helps support the preacher in Mexico, and that church also helps buy tremendous amounts of food (beans and rice) for hungry brethren. The Mountain View Church of Christ in Buena Vista, Colorado, another church that Judy and I attend and work with just a few miles north of Poncha Springs is equally involved in our work in Mexico in supporting the preacher and buying food. The poverty where we live in Mexico is extreme. We are still in Mexico, and we are working to help reestablish a church that had suffered many problems, and had almost faded away. Now that church has grown to become very large, and it has established another church in Villa Union, just about 15 miles east of Mazatlán. Judy and I are working with both of those church, and
