About the author

Perhaps best known for his role writing and starring in the 1968 Scottish Television adaptation ‘Burns’, presented as a six week serial, John Cairney is a passionate Scot, travelling the world spreading Scottish history abroad. Born and brought up in Glasgow but now living in New Zealand, Cairney has had the benefit of experiencing the city as one of its citizens and observing it from afar. Previous titles include On The Trail of Robert Burns, Immortal Memories, The Luath Burns Companion and The Quest for Robert Louis Stevenson.
