“Three days later it was Pharaoh’s birthday. He gave a party for all his servants.

At the party Pharaoh allowed the wine server and the baker to leave the prison.

He freed the wine server and gave him his job back, and once again the wine server put a cup of wine in Pharaoh’s hand.

But Pharaoh hanged the baker, and everything happened the way Joseph said it would.

But the wine server did not remember to help Joseph. He said nothing about him to Pharaoh.

The wine server forgot about Joseph.

Two years later Pharaoh dreamed that he was standing by the Nile River.”

(Genesis 40:20-41:1)

We all love the Joseph story.

But how many of us really appreciate what this young lad went through?

Yes, he had a big mouth, which attracted a lot of envy from his siblings;

But was that the real source of his misfortunes?

A closer look at the scriptures, reveals that this young Jewish boy, went through a horrendous youthful period, as necessary training for the humongous task he was appointed to accomplish, on behalf of the whole Earth.

Being far away from his family and kinsmen, was bad enough.

Having to transcend from slavery, into incarceration, further rubberstamped the tough schedule bequeathed to him, by the God of Heaven.

Joseph’s life and misadventures, prove to us – without a doubt; that the pathway to the ‘Palace’, sees a walk through the ‘Tombstones’!
